VP Partnerships


GradSchoolLoans, an early stage, high growth start-up in downtown Cleveland, is looking for a VP of Partnerships to build and lead the sales and partnerships campaigns across multiple channels.  Reporting to the CEO, this role will provide the selected candidate the opportunity to develop and implement strategies that will fundamentally impact the long term growth and success of the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement the strategic direction for the organization’s partnership programs.
  • Build and lead a local, regional, and national sales team, to develop and deliver innovative partnership development initiatives.
  • Responsible for managing partnerships team leading customer acquisition through channels such as hospitals, medical schools, financial planners, and medical associations.
  • Develop key B2B and account management performance metrics that consistently measure the effectiveness and efficiency of partnerships programs.
  • Partner with marketing to driving brand/product awareness through partnerships, promotions, sponsorships and all other appropriate means.
  • Partner with CEO and Marketing to develop and oversee effective content messaging strategies for B2B.
  • Provide strong, effective and highly visible leadership to the future partnership team in order to capitalize on their full potential. Ensure the team is provided with the necessary coaching, motivation and guidance to contribute fully to the realization of the product mission, vision, goals and objectives.
  • Represent the company as a thought leader and keep abreast of all trends in the industry.

Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant partnership experience coupled with demonstrated skills, knowledge, and experience in building a customer acquisition strategy through partnerships.
  • Experience developing and managing a national sales team
  • Experience in a start-up, small business or high growth environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience in B2B partnerships is required.
  • Knowledge on creating a consistent and national brand capable of being a market leader.
  • Experienced as a manager of multiple direct reports.
  • Development and execution of successful demand generation campaigns is a must.
  • Strong track record for results is critical.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and adapts quickly to change.

We started GradSchoolLoans because our friends in residency wanted to refinance their medical school student loans but weren’t eligible with any of the current student loan companies. We decided to create a company that’s different. Not only is the customer experience a key part of our focus, but we look at unique underwriting criteria such as future job prospects and educational background as part of our loan approval process.
