Brand Manager



Reporting to the VP of Marketing, the Brand Manager will support Marketing across Eagle Family Food Group brands.  Responsibilities include supporting product development, new item launches, customer focused communications, private label item maintenance, sales and share reporting.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Finalize the Innovation strategy and bring new, innovative products to market.
  • Partner closely with sales teams in the field and cross-functional teams (Marketing, Sales Strategy & Planning, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Finance) to drive go-to-market strategy and plans
  • Lead the development of selling stories and marketing materials to translate our portfolio and commercial strategies, enabling customer teams to sell
  • Coordinate and execute retail business related marketing efforts.  Including but not limited to:
    • Maintain current business, including management of product, specification, and packaging changes
    • Lead and manage cross-functional private label project teams to execute new private label product launches, packaging designs, artwork approvals, SKU and materials management changes and financial feasibility exercises
    • Address customer and Sales inquiries and develop customer product presentations
    • Support monthly Demand Planning process by preparing monthly SKU forecasts and participating in consensus activities
    • Work with agency contacts to support private label marketing and communications plans, media, and customer and consumer activations (coupons, promotions, etc.) in support of the annual marketing plan
    • Manage marketing spending budget and reports on spending results/ROI
  • Manage quarterly competitive review and reporting
    • Establish a schedule for product reviews with key stakeholders
    • Coordinate cuttings, including procurement of samples, documents, and review protocol
    • Identify quality issues or competitive opportunities relative to national brand standard
    • Provide follow-up reporting to the team
  • Support monthly business review data for deeper analysis and commentary by senior Marketing staff
    • Support the preparation of general business analysis and reporting
      (sales, profitability, competitive activity, promotional results, etc.)
    • Prepare and advise on category trends and business performance utilizing internal and external data sources (SAP, IRI custom & syndicated data, consumer household panel, etc.)
  • Support annual planning and other retail channel projects/duties as assigned or needed
  • Manage social media communications across Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook and other platforms
  • Plan and attend events / industry events to build relationships and spread the word about Eagle brands



Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field (MBA strongly preferred)
  • 3+ years of classic CPG Brand Management background with experience in Innovation and new product development.  Experience with Food is necessary
  • Self-starter and independent thinker with the ability to understand business fundamentals from an opportunity or challenge perspective, then convert that insight to sustainable strategies and action plans for growth
  • Entrepreneurial approach to driving a business with an ability to influence the organization and a comfort level in wearing multiple hats and managing both strategic and day-today items
  • Strong financial and strategic acumen, analytical abilities, communication skills and capable of independent decision making and setting business vision
  • Project management skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask against several complex projects at a time
  • Familiarity with syndicated data systems (Nielsen, Consumer Household Panel, etc.), managing and leveraging primary consumer research and manipulating multiple data sources to generate business insights
  • Computer proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Other Considerations:

  • Ability to travel to field locations as needed (up to 20%).
  • Willing and interested in becoming involved in industry trade organizations to engage in networking that will benefit the organization.
